Join us at Waterstones in Leeds for the launch of Seni Seneviratne's new poetry collection, The Heart of It, plus a rare opportunity to hear dynamic international LGBTQ writers read together in Leeds.  

The evening also features, Thomas Glave, Anton Nimblett, Dorothea Smartt and Rommi Smith.  
 
Seni Seneviratne, born and raised in Leeds, Yorkshire is of English and Sri Lankan heritage. Her work as a poet and creative artist is widely acclaimed. Her debut collection, Wild Cinnamon and Winter Skin, (Peepal Tree Press, 2007), was described  by Professor Ramey, (California State University) as "a virtual master class between covers which represents two decades of commitment to poetic craft..." One of the poems from this collection was highly commended in the Forward Poetry Prize, 2007.    

"Loss, love, memory, from Yorkshire to Sri Lanka and back, Seni Seneviratne's poems delve in and out of a complex history. These tender, moving poems weave a delicate web." Jackie Kay.

Her poem 'Operation Cast Lead' was shortlisted in the 2010 Arvon International Poetry Competition. She has released a CD of poetry and song and her forthcoming collection The Heart of It to be published by Peepal Tree Press in April 2012. 

Seni came through the Inscribe programme to publish her debut collection, Wild Cinnammon and Winter Skin with Peepal Tree Press.
